Collection: Sue Redhead

Sue loves to make things with any type of fabric, (especially repurposing fabric from garments); paper (painted, printed, repurposed); acrylic and watercolor paint; and embellishments often from thrift stores. One of her favorite indoor activities at present is creating gel plate printed papers to create a healthy stash for use in projects. Dyeing fabric and painting large sheets are done in the garage after several (avoidable) accidents with a new carpet!

Sue has been an art quilter for several years and loves designing and creating her own wall quilts, postcards, vessels, ornaments, using recycled clothing, dyeing and screen printing fabric. She has moved more into mixed media over the last year or two, and is wild with excitement at all the possibilities that has opened up. Her style is often slightly humorous, sometimes whimsical, always colorful.

Sue recently relocated from Oregon to Florida where she loves the warmer weather and the abundant and amazing birdlife. She emigrated from England to California with her young family in 1996, and her two grown children still live on the west coast. She is actively involved in her local art quilt group and her county quilt guild and has been an active member of The Sisterhood of Maker Bees since early 2024.
