PDX Carpet Fabric Postcard, 6” x 4”

Description : You may recognize this motif from the carpet at PDX, Portland International Airport in Oregon. Many travelers take a photo of their shoes standing on the carpet. A few years ago when the carpet was replaced with this slightly different design there was a clamor to buy pieces of the old carpet (I was too late). This is the design on the current carpet that I have walked on many times and I have photographed my shoes on the carpet! Since then I have photographed the carpet at every airport I have passed through and there are some boring ones out there! PDX’s carpet design is still my favorite and the only one I have recreated in fabric and paint. I hand cut a stencil for each color of the design and painted them on in turn. The fabric is a good approximation to the carpet color. The back of the postcard is light colored fabric so ideal for writing a message to a friend, maybe a traveler themselves. The card can be mailed using a regular first class stamp.
