Collection: Linda Matson

After a full life as a native New Yorker, in 2021 Linda and her husband followed their son and his family to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. They now live in the southeast suburbs of Denver and are loving it, despite leaving the beaches of Long Island. Linda has been crafting for as long as she can remember, incorporating fabrics, paints, buttons, jewelry and lots and lots of paper into her art. One day when one of her beloved pink transferware plates broke, she wanted to find a way to use the broken shards and discovered the joys of Picassiette mosaics. Picassiette means, in French, "broken plates" and is a true art form. A place Linda would love to visit is in Chartres, France, called Maison Picassiette - a house completely covered with mosaics.  Linda has also used broken jewelry to accent her pieces. Linda mainly creates Christmas and Fall art, but also repurposes ceramic crosses and pots. Linda loves to create and tries to keep herself busy with art, decorating, and refinishing furniture.
